XXIIVV is the digital playground of Devine Lu Linvega ? born David Mondou-Labbe, a french illustrator and programmer from Montreal.
I am interested in all forms of languages and communication patterns. I am presently developing tools to control and understand the fluctuation of creativity. I have built a few programs like Horaire to help me find a balance in my work that oscillates between Audio, Visual and Research applications. I am deeply invested in Web Development and its future, I work as a web consultant and UX designer. XXIIVV was first entirely built in PHP as of 2008 and has been evolving weekly ever since to become this mature Ruby based MVC. It's both a notebook and a portfolio.
When I am not drawing or coding I compose music which I carry with me in my travels. I had the chance of playing at a few shows in Tokyo, Osaka, New York and Montreal. On a more experimental level, I have created a language which I now use to explain myself concepts and often use it in drawings, this language is called Traumae. I also have a casual interest for game design and interactive artworks, which I enjoy experiencing and making. The tools I use to realize my projects are the following. Macbook Pro, Nikon D3000 + 50mm f1.4 + 10mm 2.8, Wacom Intuos 3, Akai XR20, Processing, Unity3D and Ableton Live. All fit within a small bag which I carry with me around the world.
I am always open to interesting collaborations, you can contact me on my email at me@xxiivv.com, Twitter or by phone at 1.514.442.4052
